Accreditation The UIA has obtained official approval from the National Bar Council (CNB – Conseil National des Barreaux, France) for professional training for lawyers. In this regard, 18 hours of training have been validated for French participants.
Internet Pestana Hotel is equipped with a WIFI system, which can be accessed in the lobby and the business centre has 4 computers with a broadband connection around the clock. For access, you will need to purchase cards, which are available at the reception and business centre. All the rooms are connected, but only 4 storeys in the hotel have a broadband connection. Kindly inform the agency, Destination Plus, if you wish to have broadband access in your room.
Shuttles, Access Shuttle buses will be at your disposal to take you from the Congress hotels to Pestana Hotel and back, as well as from the Congress hotels to the various venues for social events and back. You can also use the taxi service. A trip to the city centre costs around 20 R$ to 30 R$ one-way.

Assistance during the Congress If you wish for any further information, UIA and agency representatives shall be at your disposal close to the Congress Registration Desk to answer your questions.
Accompanying Persons No member of the legal profession can be registered as an accompanying person at the Congress. In order to take part in the social activities, accompanying persons will have to register and pay the concerned registration fees. They will receive a special badge.
Badge The badge (congress participant or accompanying person) shall also be used as a pass. You are requested to ensure that it is always on you, along with your lunch coupons and those for social activities.
First-time participants at a UIA Congress In order to allow faithful participants of UIA’s annual congresses as well as the Association’s officials to offer a specially warm welcome to those (UIA members or non-members) attending a UIA Congress for the first time, their badge will refer to the fact that they are first-time participants.
Lunch Lunch will be organised in such a way that you will have ample time to meet your friends and colleagues. All the lunches will be served at the Congress venue – Pestana Bahia Hotel. Thank you in advance for collecting and carrying your meal coupons.
Exhibition An exhibition of products and services will run parallel to the Congress. It will be held in the foyers of the Pestana Bahia.
Congress Reports All congress participants who have paid their registration fees will receive a copy of the CD-ROM containing the reports received in electronic format at the UIA by July 31, 2006. The reports received before the Congress will be available on the Congress Website, congres.uianet.org/fr/salvador in the section “My UIA Congress”, to all registered participants who have paid their registration fees. During the closing ceremony, the Monique-Raynaud Contamine Award will be given to the best reports.
Monique-Raynaud Contamine Award In 1999, UIA – the International Association of Lawyers – established the Monique Raynaud-Contamine Award in tribute to Mme Monique Raynaud-Contamine, a former UIA Director of Legal Projects – Publications. Monique Raynaud-Contamine was of vital importance to the UIA for several years. In homage to her activities and her personality, the Monique Raynaud-Contamine Award was established and is given to the author of the best legal report written for UIA’s annual congresses.

The final programme will be handed over to participants at the Congress venue, including all updates and logistical information.
