RIO DE JANEIRO – IGUACU FALLS

DAY 1 – SATURDAY, 4 NOVEMBER 2006 ð SALVADOR /RIO
Arrival in RIO in the early afternoon.
Reception and transfer to Hotel IPANEMA PLAZA 4* Sup
Afternoon and evening free.
Night stay at hotel.

DAY 2 – SUNDAY, 5 NOVEMBER 2006 ð RIO DE JANEIRO
Brazilian breakfast in your hotel.
Full day devoted to discovering the city.
Cable car ride up to Sugar Loaf Mountain.
Lunch at the “Espirito Santa”, a charming restaurant located in the fascinating Santa Teresa district.
Ride up to Corcovado on a track-railway, where Christ’s statue stands.
From here, you get the best panoramic view of the city.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Transfer for dinner.
Dinner at the churrascaria Marius Copacabana. A churrascaria is a typically Brazilian restaurant where an army of busy waiters serves all sorts of meats on long, sword-like skewers.

DAY 3 – MONDAY, 6 NOVEMBER 2006 ð RIO DE JANEIRO

DAY 4 - TUESDAY 7 NOVEMBER 2006 ð RIO / IGUACU
Morning free.
Transfer to airport for the flight to Iguaçu.
Arrival late afternoon.
Reception and transfer to Hotel IGUACU 5*.

Dinner outside.
Night at the hotel.

DAY 5 – WEDNESDAY, 8 NOVEMBER 2006 ð IGUACU
Day tour devoted to discovering the waterfalls:
After breakfast, departure on a tour of the Brazilian side. Then, transfer for a walk along the Banana Tree Path (observation of fauna, in particular birds), a boat ride on the Iguaçu River and, after an aperitif, a kayak ride along the river’s tributaries.
Lunch on the terrace overlooking the river.
Then, departure for the Argentine side: embark on a small train to visit “Devil’s Gorge” and go up-river in a dinghy up to the falls – guaranteed thrills! Then a walk along the lower walkways.
Return to the hotel.
Dinner outside.

DAY 6 – THURSDAY, 9 NOVEMBER 2006 ð IGUACU AND RETURN FLIGHT
Morning free.
Optional: Helicopter ride over the falls or visit to the Bird Park.
Then, transfer to the airport for your return flight.
Meal and night on board.

CRUISE ON THE AMAZON AND THE RIO NEGRO
ABOARD THE “IBEROSTAR GRAND AMAZON”

The “Grand Amazon” is a luxury boat, which shall take you on an amazing cruise on the Rio Negro and Amazon Rivers with all comforts and excellent service on board.
You will discover the exuberant vegetation of the Amazonian forest on small boats that will enable you to penetrate deep into the virgin forest with its dense vegetation, and you will find yourselves in the midst of a multitude of exotic plants and trees. You will also find a hospitable local population here.

DAY 1 - SUNDAY, 5 NOVEMBER 2006 ð SALVADOR DE BAHIA/MANAUS
Transfer from your hotel to Salvador airport.
Flight to Manaus via Brasilia.
Arrival at Manaus during the day.
Reception and direct transfer to the port to board the “Iberostar Grand Amazon”.
You can settle down in one of the 72 air-conditioned cabins (all with private bathrooms, balcony, TV, telephone and a safe), located in one of the three decks.
At 06:00 PM, you will weigh anchor and the Captain will invite you for a welcome drink.
Dinner at the restaurant, then relax in the lounge to the music of the orchestra or in the open bar on the upper deck.

DAY 2 – MONDAY, 6 NOVEMBER 2006 ðNOVO AIRAO
You will take a ride into the Iguarapés (a branch of the river) in small boars and enjoy the fauna and flora.
Optional: Photo safari and piranha fishing.
Watch the sun set to the tune of classical music on the upper deck.
Observe alligators at night.

DAY 3 – TUESDAY, 7 NOVEMBER 2006 ð RIO PUDUARI

Return to Manaus and discover the famous confluence of the waters of the Rio Negro and the Rio Solimoes, which form the Amazon. Arrival at the port at 08:00 AM. Disembarkation.
